Child at fringe event in mock lab

Make a date with an evening of discovery

Fringes are Imperial’s free evening events where different research themes are brought to life by the creativity of Imperial students and staff through live demonstrations, creative workshops, interactive experiments and inspiring talks.

Whatever your age your age, background or level of interest, our doors are open on Fringe nights. There is something for everyone to enjoy!

At Imperial we passionately believe that science and engineering is for everyone. Our Fringes are a chance to  see exactly what our world-leading researchers are working on  wand our enthusiastic scientists, engineers and clinicians not only love what they do, but also love sharing their work with as many people as possible.

Last year’s four Fringe were enjoyed by over 2,500 members of the public. They included a journey to the stars celebrating the conclusion of the Cassini mission, a chance to say to AI with an exploration of artificial intelligence, and an atmospheric evening investigating the science of air.

In 2018/19 the Fringes will include a contagious exploration of infection, a science fashion show, and a celebration of Imperial’s pioneering and inspiring female researchers.
