Aeronautics 4th & 5th Years
For students on H401 Aeronautics (4th year) and H420 Aeronautics with a Year in Industry (5th year)
Taking an Imperial Horizons language option for degree credit (H401 Year 4, H420 Year 5)
There is an agreement with your department that requires you to complete your language course over one term only. This is so that you may focus on your project in the second term.
If you fall into this category, you will be expected to complete the following assessments:
• 2 pieces of coursework that will count for one-third of your overall grade
• 1 in-class coursework at the end of the autumn term, which replaces the final written exam and will count for one-third of your overall grade
• 1 oral exam (task and length depending on level, topics taken from term 1 only), which will take place at the end of the autumn term (dates to be agreed with your teacher) and count for one-third of your overall grade
Please inform the Language administrator (Catherine Chapouton) at the beginning of the academic year of your registration status to ensure that you benefit from this special arrangement.
Taking an Imperial Horizons language option for extra credit (H401 Year 4, H420 Year 5)
You will need to complete the course over two terms, as normal*. If for any reason you cannot go on attending, you will have the option to withdraw from the course.
*Please refer to the Languages Assessment Guidelines if you need to check the weighting of each assessment component for your course.
