The International Student Support team organises afternoon and day trips to a range of UK destinations. Some of our full day trips are run in partnership with International Friends, an experienced tour operator and include executive coach travel and full day tour guides to ensure you get the most out of the trip.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who can join the day trips?
The day trips are open to all current Imperial College students, including EU and UK students. Occasionally staff members may attend, but they must ask permission from the International Student Support team first.
Unfortunately non-Imperial friends and family members are unable to attend.
How do I register and pay?
Click on the link in the trip you would like to attend. You will be asked to complete a registration form and will then be taken to a payment page where you will need a credit/debit card to pay. Your place will not be confirmed until you have paid.
Please note that each student wishing to attend the trip must register and pay separately.
What do I need to bring with me?
For each trip, you must bring:
- Your Imperial College ID card.
- Your Oyster Card if the trip is in London.
- Suitable clothing and shoes for the weather.
- Suncream, sunhat and water bottle if it is likely to be warm.
- Lunch if you will not be buying this on the day. Please note that restaurants are likely to be busy and you may wish to reserve a table in advance, especially if a large group of you will be eating together.
- Money to cover your expenses. Please do not bring very large amounts as we cannot be held responsible for this.
- A camera.
There may also be additional items you will need to bring for specific trips but you will be notified of these in a pre-trip email.
What if I need to cancel?
Tickets are non-refundable unless otherwise stated.
Please be aware that as tickets for our trips are purchased in advance by the International Student Support team, we are unable to provide a refund of money if you can no longer attend. If you can no longer attend, you may find another Imperial Student to take your place. You will need to email us to let us know.
If there is a waiting list for the event, we may be able to find someone to replace you. In this case your payment will be refunded from the person taking your place on the trip.

What are the closing dates below?
The closing date for each trip is the date after which no more bookings will be accepted. Note that a trip may fill up before the closing date.
Please note that all events are open to Imperial College students only. Each person wishing to attend must register and pay separately. PLEASE DO NOT PAY FOR MULTIPLE PEOPLE
Social Programme February - June 2019 : New for this academic year!
International Student Support along with our trip partners International Friends are offering students the opportunity to book a full social programme for next term. By booking the full programme you will receive a 10% discount on the normal trip rates. The social programme includes the following day trips:
- Jack the Ripper & Sherlock Holmes tour – Saturday 16th February
- Oxford & Bicester Village - Saturday 16th March
- Stonehenge & King Arthur's Glastonbury - Saturday 11th May
- Brighton & Royal Pavilion – Saturday 22nd June
Total cost for the social programme is £162

17.15 -17:30 Introductory talk for International Students about the music, the history and the Church building by Andrew Willson from the Chaplaincy Multi-Faith Centre
17.30-18.15 Service of Choral Evensong with singing and music from different periods of history.
If you have ever watched a British Royal wedding you will have heard English church music and seen the traditional side of Christianity in the UK. Churches like St Paul’s Cathedral and Westminster Abbey are great heritage sites. They charge an entrance fee during the day but you can always get in free to attend the services! Come along and find out more.
Imperial students sing a traditional form of Christian worship every two weeks in term time. It is a form of service used in Cathedrals and ancient College Chapels of British universities like Oxford, Cambridge, Aberdeen and St Andrew’s
Enjoy the beautiful space of a historic Church and experience the glorious music of the English Choral Tradition.

Harry Potter Studio Tour
Saturday 17th November
At the Warner Bros Studio step on to authentic film sets from the Harry Potter film series. See the Hogwarts Express, Great Hall, Ministry of Magic, Weasley Kitchen, Diagon Alley and much more. Discover behind the scenes secrets and experience the magic that has gone into creating the most successful film series of all time!
- Afternoon/evening excursion includes travel by executive coach, services of a Tour Manager and entry to Warner Bros Studio Tour
Departure time - 3:00pm - Meet in front of the Sir Alexander Fleming Building, Imperial College Road. Please ensure you are at the meeting point at least 10 minutes before departure time.
Theatre Night - Book of Mormon

Join us on a trip to see The Book of Mormon at The Prince of Wales Theatre (near Leicester Sq). It was written by Trey Parker and Matt Stone, who created the popular adult cartoon series South Park, plus Robert Lopez who created the US stage hit Avenue Q and follows the story of two Salt Lake City Mormons who are sent on an important mission to convert the people of Uganda to the Mormon religion…
This isn't a musical for the faint hearted. Expect foul language, sexual content and crude stuff that could easily offend the easily offended!

Bath Christmas Markets & Lacock
Saturday 1st December
Each year the Roman City of Bath is transformed into a magical Christmas paradise with over 170 chalets full
of Christmas gifts in the streets surrounding the Roman Baths and Bath Abbey. Also included is a visit to the
beautiful village of Lacock which was used in filming for Harry Potter, Pride & Prejudice and more.

Theatre Night - The Lion King
Wednesday 5th December 7pm
